So whats the story about Travertine tile floor?
~ I watch HGTV and I see people getting all excited when a house has travertine floors,,,,,why is this the latest rage??? What is so special about it????
It’s a very neutral color and relatively inexpensive. However, it does need to be sealed with at least two coats of a stone sealer and requires cleaning very often. It can still stain if certain things get spilled on it, like some cosmetics, cleaners, and food things like tomato sauce, wine, or anything else that is acidic.
Because it is a natural stone and has that ‘old world’ feel, it became popular when everyone wanted/still wants that Tuscan or Old World feel.
Then it became popular again with the designer shows on TV.
